Members of the Academic Medical Community Take a Bow at the Bicentennial Excellence Awards
Award Selection Process/Nomination Criteria
This award recognizes SMHS and MFA faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond to support our mission as an academic medical enterprise. Awardees must have been demonstrated to materially support or advance AT LEAST one of our four pillars or one of our shared cultural values, as outlined in our shared strategic plan.
Shared Cultural Values
- Programs for optimal staff, faculty, student and trainee WELLNESS
- Inclusive and equitable workplace, clinical and academic programs
- Welcoming and supportive work, clinical & learning environments
Individuals must be nominated by their chair or the leader of their administrative office. All nominators must complete a brief submission form, which requires the nominator to list the relevant pillar or shared cultural value to which the award nominee contributed. All nominees with satisfactorily completed submission forms will be awarded the Pillars of Excellence Award.
All SMHS and MFA employees, with the exception of residents, are eligible for this award. This includes post-docs and APPs employed by the MFA. There is no set limit on the number of individuals who can receive this award in a given year. It is up to the discretion of school leadership and the GW Medicine Recognition Event planning committee.
